Job Summary The
Asset Control Coordinator
provides administrative support to General Accounting and the Property Officer network by performing all asset‑tracking, tagging, and disposal functions while reconciling tagged assets with the new asset report. Responsibilities include identifying and tagging new institutional assets on the UTMDACC campus, maintaining accurate asset data, assisting with annual physical inventories, and other duties as assigned.
Job Duties Asset Tag Process
Identify physical location and tag capital and non‑capital institutional assets.
Complete all maintenance updates within the Asset Registry.
Asset Reporting
Generate untagged reports for property officers and other requested reports.
Perform filing, data entry, inventory‑related research, and participate in general activities and special projects.
Customer Service
Interact with Property Administrators/Officers and customers to identify concerns and offer resolutions.
Assist auditors with accessing data and/or assets selected for audit.
Professional Development
Maintain professional expertise through participation in development programs, educational activities, and institutional training resources.
Other Duties
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Working Conditions
Commuting/Driving: Company vehicle use within the Houston Metropolitan Area and Texas Medical Center.
Physical Demands
Walking: Daily travel to and from campus destinations.
Requirements Education:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Associate's degree.
Experience:
Required:
Four years of experience in accounting, inventory management, business or related field.
Preferred:
Asset management, warehouse experience, inventory management, computer knowledge, Outlook and Excel skills, customer service oriented.
Onsite Presence:
Is Required. Extensive walking and travel to and from campus destinations. Commuting/driving in Houston area and medical center.
