Quality Risk and Compliance Engineer This critical role is designed to ensure the robust management of product safety, regulatory adherence, and the swift resolution of urgent quality issues across our operations. You will act as a key expert, driving proactive risk identification and mitigation strategies, and ensuring our products and processes consistently meet internal and external quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role is essential for maintaining our operational integrity and customer satisfaction.

Location: Onsite/office role at our Buffalo Grove, IL location.

As a Quality Risk & Compliance Engineer, you will:

Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of quality and product safety risks throughout the product lifecycle and operational processes

Ensure continuous adherence to relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., local/international safety regulations, environmental standards), and internal Siemens quality policies

Manage and drive the resolution of urgent and critical quality issues, conducting thorough root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence

Act as a primary point of contact for product safety‑related matters, coordinating risk assessments, incident investigations, and necessary safety‑driven product modifications or field actions

Support internal and external audits related to quality management systems, product safety, and regulatory compliance, ensuring successful outcomes

Respond to and manage all customer requests such as product validations, quality self‑assessments, questionnaires, and audit coordination, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange; this includes driving actions to address identified non‑conformances and proactively reducing their recurrence

Develop and implement robust quality controls and processes to prevent non‑conformances and ensure compliance with all applicable standards

Drive process continuous improvement and automation by leveraging key technologies such as LLMs, Agentic AI, etc.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with Engineering, Production, Legal, and Product Management teams to embed quality, safety, and compliance requirements from design to delivery

Provide expert guidance and training on quality, risk management, and compliance topics to various teams within the organization

You will make an impact with these qualifications: Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field

5+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering, with a strong focus on risk management, product safety, and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment

Proven experience in conducting thorough root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

In‑depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) principles, product safety standards, risk assessment methodologies (e.g., FMEA), and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., UL, FM, ISO)

Experience supporting and participating in internal and external audits, demonstrating strong organizational and documentation skills

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to quickly assess complex situations and drive effective solutions under pressure

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance and safety requirements clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and respond effectively to urgent situations with a calm and decisive approach

Available to work on‑site, Monday through Friday

Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Quality Certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE)

Experience with specific regulatory bodies or certifications relevant to building technologies (e.g., UL, CE, NFPA, etc.)

Experience leveraging AI technologies (e.g., Large Language Models and agent‑based automation) to drive process improvement and operational efficiency

The pay range for this position is $82,538 - $141,494 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
