Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or Networking and Telecommunications. Minimum experience: 5 years in Tier‑1 support operations. Relevant certifications: ITIL v3, CompTIA, CCNA.

Job Description

Analyze and administer the technical architecture of LANs and WANs.

Research, run tests, evaluate, and recommend telecommunications and data network systems.

Analyze workload, including traffic and utilization trends.

Interface with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors to determine the most appropriate hardware installation.

Support complex PCs and LAN/WAN networks throughout the organization.

Test and evaluate hardware and software for efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems.

Analyze test data and recommend hardware or software for purchase.

Perform work under minimal supervision; handle complex issues and refer only the most complex issues to higher‑level staff.

Coordinate scheduling for the WNOC group supporting COTHEN and Land Mobile Radio (LMR).

Serve as the lead point of contact (POC) for government and customers seeking technical assistance.

Coordinate training for new contract staff and provide documentation for daily, weekly, and monthly reports from the ticketing system and databases.

Essential Job Functions and Physical Demands

Work most hours in an indoor environment, standing and walking most of the time.

Maintain a degree of physical fitness to respond quickly to changing demands and emergencies.

Stand for 4 or more hours between breaks.

Walk, talk, hear, taste, smell, and feel without impairment.

Use fine motor skills and appropriate visual acuity.

Reach with hands and arms, work safely on uneven or slippery surfaces, and occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds (up to 50 pounds occasionally).

Provide CPR and first aid if needed.
