Job Description and Duties
Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, to have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and to receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part‑time employees are subject to the same conditions as full‑time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full‑time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.

This classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is P $8,678, Q$9,319.
Under the general direction of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, CF, the Clinical Social Worker (Health/CF) Safety conducts assessments and summarizes case information to use in diagnosis, treatment (level of care), and dispositional release; diagnoses and/or collaborates in the formulation of a diagnosis; develops, monitors, and modifies treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides assessments, group therapy, collateral conferences, and documents and evaluates patients’ progress in treatment.
Responsibilities Do you have a keen professional interest in addiction medicine and substance use treatment? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking California‑licensed clinical social workers to join our Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT). This newly‑created statewide program is designed to provide integrated, specialized care to patients with a history of substance use who require additional medical assistance. ISUDT staff are committed to providing optimal care, promoting patients’ successful reintegration into society, and reducing recidivism.
Qualifications Possession of Minimum Qualifications (MQ) will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you meet the MQ’s with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. Candidates who are not meeting the MQ’s will be withheld from the eligibility list. Candidates new to CCHCS must submit a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting and Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to appointment, followed by annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter. When submitting supporting documents, PDF file format is preferred. CCHCS utilizes E‑Verify to confirm candidate’s identity and employment authorization.
Possession of a valid Associate Clinical Social Worker license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.
