Role Overview
Brightstar Care of Chicago is seeking a
part‑time HR Generalist
to support the people operations in our growing home care organization. This role will focus on employee lifecycle support, compliance, and day‑to‑day HR operations for a workforce that includes caregivers, nurses, and office staff. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, organized, and comfortable working in a regulated healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel file management
Assist with compliance‑related HR processes (I‑9s, licensure tracking, trainings, policy acknowledgments)
Serve as a point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures
Coordinate with payroll and benefits vendors to ensure accurate employee records
Support performance documentation, corrective actions, and employee relations matters
Assist with maintaining HR policies and employee handbook updates
Help track required trainings, certifications, and annual acknowledgments
Support leadership with ad hoc HR projects as needed
Qualifications
3+ years of HR experience (healthcare or home care strongly preferred)
Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Experience supporting hourly, field‑based workforces a plus
Strong attention to detail and documentation
Comfortable working independently in a part‑time role
HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP) a plus but not required
