Job Description We are accepting applications for the Joe V's Smart Shop School of Retail Leadership (SORL) Program, which develops individuals to become Top Store Team Leaders. The program focuses on hands‑on management experience in all departments, classroom training, project work, and workshops that enhance the leadership skills necessary to become a successful Top Store Leader.

We Are Looking For

A master’s or bachelor’s degree.

Minimum one year of experience as a department manager.

A high‑level record of academic or work achievement and performance.

Responsibilities

Travel or relocate as business needs require.

Complete the online application if you meet all preferred qualifications.

Participate in classroom training and workshops designed to enhance leadership skills.

Work with Store Leadership and Department Managers to gain exposure to all aspects of retail operation.

Perform project work and apply hands‑on management experience in all departments.

Demonstrate a strong ownership mentality and pride in the work.

Apply the ability to achieve results with a passion for maximizing productivity and driving down expense.

Build and develop people, advancing the capacity of others and teams.

Adapt quickly, anticipate, and seek out better experiences in a cross‑functional workplace.

Function in a fast‑paced retail environment requiring detailed work and precision.

Lift and carry 40‑60 pounds on a regular basis.

Stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, and perform repeated reach and side‑to‑side movements throughout the shift.

Work with customers, maintaining composure in high‑stress situations.

Work extended hours and varying work schedules as dictated by business needs.

Preferred Education and Experience

A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or a minimum of one year of experience as a primary department manager.

A strong academic record (3.0 GPA preferred).

Current performance rating that meets or exceeds expectations.

Exhibit a high level of achievement and performance in school and/or work.

Physical and Behavioral Expectations

Be exposed to moderate noise levels in the work environment.

Stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, and perform repeated reach and side‑to‑side movements throughout the shift.

Work with customers and be attentive to their needs while maintaining composure in high‑stress situations.

Background Check Successful completion of a background check is required.
