Position Summary A part‑time Adjunct Instructor will teach one or more classes for the Hussman School of Journalism and Media. Curriculum and content requirements vary by semester. Course catalog:

Key Responsibilities
Follow a standardized course syllabus and use pre‑developed instructional materials.
Engage students in discussions, applying instructor expertise to real‑world problems.
Provide verbal and written feedback and grade student work.
Post grades in a timely manner according to university guidelines.
Maintain regular office hours and respond to student inquiries.
Communicate with the Associate/Assistant Deans about student experiences and potential improvements.

Minimum Education and Experience Earned doctorate or terminal degree in the same or closely related discipline; in lieu of a terminal degree, qualifications may be based on professional experience or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Strong communication skills, including effective management of group discussions.
Strong writing skills with experience providing feedback on written assignments.
Significant work and/or teaching experience directly related to the course being taught.
Experience teaching in higher education.
Special Instructions Applications a rolling basis and will be reviewed as teaching opportunities become available. Course assignments may change or be reassigned up to a few weeks before the start of each semester.
