Job Description Summary
Responsibilities:
Ensure all safety mechanisms are in place and functioning before operating the press.
Adhere to all safety standards and guidelines as outlined in the AAM handbook.
Install and assemble tooling such as die cavities, upper and lower punches, and core rods into the press.
Set up and troubleshoot tooling and presses during operation.
Maintain and inspect tooling and press equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
Collaborate with team members for efficient production flow and process improvement.
Required Skills and Education
High School or GED equivalent
Shift flexible, including weekends as required
Analytical skills
Powder metal compacting (5+ years preferred)
Manufacturing experience in metal forging preferred
Hands‑on experience with mechanical/pneumatic presses (Cincinnati 550) for powdered metal compacting
Hands‑on experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
Knowledge of forging presses, die setup, material flow, and robot knowledge
Familiarity with the metallurgical properties of ferrous/non‑ferrous powders and forgings
Blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Quality inspection tools: micrometers, hardness testers, CMM
