Concrete Finisher

Responsibilities
Patching and repairing of concrete work, concrete restoration and concrete joint treatments
Applications of floor toppings
Ensures floor finishes meet project requirements consistent with FF/FL terminology
Proficient in the use of the tools and equipment – at the time of the place-finishing sequence including straight edges to establish grade, bull floats, mops and Highway Straight Edges, float blades, combo blades, finish blades, hand tools for floor finishing, edging and joint tooling, single and double trowel machines, curing, pump and vibratory equipment
Walk-behind trowels and double riders
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all tools and equipment required
Ensures proper maintenance of place/finish equipment and tools
Requirements
3 recent years’ experience as a Concrete Finisher
Active driver license
Must know how to finish concrete efficiently, safely and productively
Must have experience finishing slabs and stairs
A plus if you know how to rub and patch
Know the abbreviated and common construction terms for the equipment and materials used
Must have a safety first attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
Must be willing to work nights and weekends, when necessary
Knowledge & Skills
High School or equivalent or two current years’ experience
Physical Requirements
Monitor all personnel to ensure safety and PPE requirements
Frequently lifts and/or moves objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally objects weighing more than 50 pounds
Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions
Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high asphalt levels of noise and dust that is typically associated with a construction project
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor under adverse field conditions
