Position Details
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM (Training hours vary)
Pay Range: $21.00 – $24.00/hour, depending on experience
Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification required
Location: 925 E Covey Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85024
Responsibilities
Process customer bills and insurance claims accurately and on time.
Assist with all daily and month‑end billing functions, procedures, and reporting.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, caregivers, medical providers, and insurance carriers via phone or electronic communication.
Research and establish patient eligibility coverage with private and government insurance providers.
Maintain and audit patient files and documentation for third‑party audits and payer compliance.
Respond to billing inquiries and resolve issues regarding eligibility, coverage, and benefits.
Run Medicare plan comparisons for open and special enrollment periods.
Complete daily census, admissions, discharges, and room changes for assigned facilities.
Process patient payments, returns, credits, and transmit credit‑card payments.
Pursue payment from delinquent accounts and arrange payment plans.
Perform prescription claims adjudication, including communication with insurers about rejected claims and prior authorizations.
Demonstrate knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, PDP, and third‑party insurance billing requirements.
Utilize pharmacy information systems to process prior authorizations, resolve rejections, and generate reports.
Consistently meet accuracy and productivity standards.
Follow all government regulations, including HIPAA.
Collaborate with team members to meet pharmacy service goals.
Perform other essential functions as assigned.

Minimum 2 years related experience, including at least 6 months billing experience in long‑term care or retail.
Advanced computer skills; pharmacy information system experience required.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Quality‑mindset; motivated to identify and correct errors.
Work Environment
Noise level is usually low to moderate.
