We're looking for a Groundskeeper/Maintenance Worker to join our team!
Our skilled Maintenance Staff work together to ensure the hospital facilities, both interior and exteriors, are clean, safe, updated and functioning for our patients, visitors and employees. The Maintenance staff perform building repairs, scheduled preventative maintenance, grounds keeping, inspections, and other duties.
Qualifications and Skills High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, maintenance experience or a trade certificate in plumbing, carpentry, electrical or mechanics is a plus.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Mowing, trimming, and maintaining lawns
Planting, watering, and caring for shrubs, flowers, and trees
Maintaining walkways, parking lots, and outdoor areas for safety
Removing weeds, debris, and trash from hospital grounds
Snow/ice removal or seasonal grounds care
Operating grounds equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers
Performing general building repairs such as patching walls, fixing doors, repairing fixtures
Painting interior and exterior surfaces
Repairing hospital furniture and equipment
Conducting minor electrical repairs (switches, outlets, lighting)
Performing plumbing tasks such as unclogging drains or fixing leaks
Maintaining boilers, chillers, and plant-operation equipment when trained
Inspecting facilities for safety hazards and reporting issues
Assisting with room setups, moves, and equipment transport
Documenting maintenance work and repairs
Following hospital safety, infection-control, and OSHA standards
Responding to maintenance requests promptly
Participating in on-call rotations for after-hours issues
Education/Licensure
High school graduate or equivalent.
Professional Experience
Basic landscaping and grounds care
Safety procedures (OSHA, hospital environment - of - care standards)
