Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled
Legal Secretary/Paralegal
for our busy litigation practice. This hybrid role combines administrative expertise with substantive legal support in a fast paced primarily remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide secretarial and paralegal support to multiple attorneys
Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents including motions, appeals, petitions, and discovery
Prepare and file court documents, including e‑filing, in compliance with deadlines and court rules
Maintain attorney calendars, schedule conferences, depositions, hearings, and track critical litigation dates
Organize and manage case files, exhibits, and trial notebooks
Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of depositions, medical records, and discovery responses
Prepare subpoenas, authorizations, and correspondence to obtain records
Assist with preparation of discovery requests, responses and notices
Communicate with clients, experts, and medical providers
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of civil litigation experience; extensive calendaring and court filing experience in California
Certificate from an ABA approved program or associate degree in paralegal studies; at least 2 years of insurance defense and/or litigation experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with cloud‑based calendaring and court e‑filing systems
Strong organizational and time‑management skills; ability to multitask in a remote setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of legal terminology and litigation procedures
