Job Purpose We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Operations Manager to oversee our fuel programs and chargeback processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with specific experience in fuel management, logistics, and financial chargeback systems. This role requires excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills to ensure optimized fuel inventory management to drive refueling revenue. The Business Operations Manager – Fuel Programs will report to the Senior Ancillary Revenue Manager.
What you will do...
Fuel Initiative Management: Lead and manage projects related to fuel process improvements, revenue generation and/or cost saving to ensure timely and successful completion.
Operational Excellence: Assist in driving new fuel process tools, including new fuel management tools across the organization.
Chargeback Processes: Develop, implement, maintain chargeback procedures to ensure accurate and timely billing of all fuel types to customers.
Fuel Performance Tracking: Oversee the tracking, monitoring, and reporting of fuel performance across the company.
Data Analysis: Analyze fuel consumption data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on fuel activities, and project progress as well as other key fuel insights for leadership including senior management.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless fuel management across the organization.
Pricing: Manage fuel pricing compliance across fuel offerings and provide insights/recommendations on fuel price enhancement opportunities.
Fuel Expense Management: Drive initiatives to help optimize fuel expenses.
Compliance: Ensure branches comply with all Herc fuel products/procedures and industry regulations.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to further enhance process efficiencies and fuel revenue, including technological enhancements.
Requirements Professional Experience
Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in project management.
Verifiable track record of driving results, including with large‑scale initiatives.
Prior focus/experience on fuel management and chargeback systems preferred.
Experience pulling data (SQL, etc.) and using visual analytics tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.) to identify insights and drive results.
Involvement in initiatives that required cross‑functional work inside and outside the organization.
Construction/equipment industry experience preferred.
Educational Background
A four‑year college degree in business, logistics, supply chain management or a related field is required.
PMP (Project Management Professional), Six Sigma or other project management certification preferred.
Prior experience in the fuel industry or change management preferred.
Skills
Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to complete all requirements and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Very proficient in MS Office suite of tools.
Data analytics and BI tool experience preferred.
Pay Range: $85,000 – $95,000
