About the Role A growing industrial manufacturer is seeking an experienced, hands‑on
Production Manager
to lead daily manufacturing operations at its Tulsa‑area facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production while meeting delivery commitments and operational performance goals.
The Production Manager will oversee production teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain to support customer and business needs.
This position reports to senior operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities Production & Operational Leadership
Lead and oversee all daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient operations, on‑time delivery, effective capacity planning, and control of labor, material usage, and overall manufacturing costs.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain a safety‑first culture by enforcing workplace safety standards, conducting audits and training, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal safety policies.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, train, and mentor production supervisors and shop‑floor personnel while setting performance expectations, providing coaching, and supporting workforce planning and development.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Ensure products meet quality and industry requirements; partner with Quality on defect resolution and corrective actions while driving Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
Equipment & Facility Oversight
Oversee equipment reliability and maintenance coordination to minimize downtime and support capital equipment projects and facility improvements.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, and Sales to align production capabilities with business needs and serve as the primary production contact for operational and customer‑related issues.
Budget & Performance Management
Develop and manage the production budget; track KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost, and implement strategies to improve operational performance and profitability.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
Production Management Experience:
5+ years of production or manufacturing management experience (Required)
Industry Background:
5+ years of experience within the HVAC, heat exchanger, or closely related industrial equipment manufacturing environment (Required)
Manufacturing Systems & Process Improvement:
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies; Lean Six Sigma experience (3+ years preferred)
Leadership & Communication:
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate production teams, drive accountability, solve complex operational problems, and communicate effectively across departments and with customers
Supervisory Responsibility, Work Environment & Other Requirements
Supervisory Scope:
Directly supervises production personnel and frontline leadership as applicable
Work Environment:
On‑site role with regular presence on the manufacturing floor; PPE required in production areas
Physical Requirements:
Extended walking and standing; occasional lifting up to 25–30 lbs.
Travel:
Limited, as needed
