What You Will Do

Collaborate with software engineers to design, develop, and test software applications.

Assist in the implementation of new features and enhancements.

Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving coding standards.

Debug and troubleshoot software issues, providing solutions and improvements.

Document development processes, code changes, and software architecture.

Engage with the team in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project planning.

What You Will Learn

You will be provided access to Collins Aerospace communities of practice for learning and networking opportunities.

Hands‑on experience with future military and commercial display and sensor products.

Learn about aerospace design and test standards and how they apply to aircraft avionics systems.

Work closely with an integrated project team made up of EE, SW, ME, systems and optical engineers.

Mentorship from experienced software engineers and industry professionals.

Qualifications You Must Have

High School Diploma or equivalent and a student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

Proficiency in C#—solid understanding of the C# programming language, including object‑oriented principles and core .NET technologies.

Familiarity with .NET Framework/ASP.NET—basic experience with .NET Framework or ASP.NET for applications and services.

Previous software or computer engineering intern experience.

Basic knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.

Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.

Demonstrated experience through academic projects or personal work involving C# and .NET technologies.

Knowledge of additional C# frameworks or libraries (e.g., Entity Framework, WPF).

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, and other standard benefits. Additional benefits are dependent on the specific business unit and collective bargaining agreement.
