SUMMARY Provides leadership, guidance, training, motivation, and support to the Housekeeping Department. Ensures guest rooms and public areas are consistently cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, delivering exceptional comfort and service to guests. Oversees the development and management of the department’s annual operational and capital budgets. Performs all responsibilities with an understanding of the critical role Housekeeping plays in a high‑occupancy, 800‑room beachfront waterpark resort environment.

Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. PIC cannot accommodate unpredictable or sporadic absenteeism, unless it is covered by federal/state law.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors productivity guidelines for Housekeeping staff.

Designs, conducts classes, and implements the Housekeeping training programs.

Ensures proper standards and procedures are being used in Housekeeping.

Keeps abreast of competition, trends, new products and legislative action to ensure a competitive edge and hotel’s compliance with local regulations.

Proactively forecasts and manages Housekeeping needs through the development and completion of additional rooms, public areas, and other facilities.

Delegates responsibilities to the Housekeeping staff.

Creates and manages budgets for the Housekeeping Department.

Establishes good communication between departments and within the Housekeeping staff.

Develops weekly, monthly, and annual goals for the department.

Controls payroll costs and adheres to operational and capital budgets.

Hires and interviews Housekeeping staff.

Supports and upholds the property’s philosophy concerning hiring, employee relations, supervision, and disciplinary action.

Provides strong leadership to all Housekeeping staff by providing guidance and training for staff development.

Conducts monthly inventory of supplies.

Ensures that required operating licenses and permits are displayed as required by law.

Develops management and supervisory skills within the department.

Develops goals and objectives for the Housekeeping Department in line with our company mission statement and guiding management principles.

Conducts performance reviews for the housekeeping management and staff.

Performs PIC managerial functions, such as staff meetings, monthly reports, room inspections and various programs.

Ensures quality control by monitoring guest comments and working closely with all Managers, and by being sensitive to the diverse cultural needs of guests and employees.

Understands all the technical skills and operational procedures performed by each Housekeeping job category.

Actively participates in required departmental and operational meetings.

Actively participates in monthly GHRA Executive Housekeeping Committee meetings and activities.

Works with external laundry and wholesale vendors.

Develops optimized staffing models based on occupancy forecasts and productivity metrics.

Monitors overtime, attendance, scheduling patterns, and workforce performance.

Ensures VIP room standards and special requests are executed flawlessly.

Oversees and optimizes housekeeping systems (HotSOS, PMS, inventory software).

Generates and analyzes operational reports (productivity, room status, turnaround times).

Participates in planning for renovations, upgrades, and new facilities.

Drives employee engagement initiatives and promotes a positive workplace culture.

Ensures OSHA compliance and maintains MSDS/SDS documentation.

COMPANY STANDARD

Ensures /maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of PIC property (picking up loose trash, material and debris and disposing of it in appropriate trash receptacles provided).

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE College degree preferred or university program certificate; or a minimum of three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
