Full‑Time position
Location: MCI-Framingham in Framingham, MA and MCI-Norfolk in Norfolk, MA (requires travel between locations)
Job Overview We are an industry leader in Correctional Health Care with an opening for a full‑time Substance Addiction Counselor. This role involves face‑to‑face interactions with justice‑involved individuals across varied socioeconomic backgrounds, supporting them at critical points in their recovery.

Minimum Requirements
Graduation from a Bachelor's level program or higher
Minimum 2 years of clinician/counselor/social work experience in public or private agency (or equivalent preferred)
Substance use certification (e.g., CAC, CADC, CAADC, LADC)
Satisfactory background investigation report
Essential Functions
Provide crisis stabilization, intakes, and ongoing evaluations
Conduct individual and group therapeutic interventions using CBT and Motivational Interviewing
Assess functional level, strengths, and weaknesses related to substance use
Orients patients to treatment process and program goals
Develop and implement treatment and discharge plans with other behavioral health professionals
Deliver pre‑ and post‑tests, surveys, and interpret results
Maintain timely documentation, records, and reports
Educate patients on the impact of substance use on physical, social, and emotional health
Participate in monthly behavioral health calls and collaborate with medical team on treatment planning
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and manage discharge into aftercare programs
Perform risk assessment and crisis management
Compensation Base pay range: $65,000 - $70,000 per year. Additional incentives available.
