Description
The candidate should have experience working with large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible remote work schedule is available if needed. Ideal candidate will sit in the Midwest or Southeast Region due to the amount of projects in these areas.
DUTIES:
Provide technical planning, biological process and mechanical design and construction support on various water and wastewater treatment and resource recovery projects. Projects may include combined sewer overflow, collection system, pump station, stormwater, hydrologic and hydraulic models and/or other water and wastewater projects.
Prepare engineering calculations, run process models (i.e. Excel spreadsheet, Biowin, GPS-X, etc.) and support analysis of alternatives. Utilize effective technical writing skills to prepare technical memoranda to document alternative analyses, basis of design, business case evaluations, P&ID reports etc.
Prepare design reports and construction plans for treatment plants and pump stations using local and state standards.
Prepare/assist with specifications and permit submittals.
Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
Monitor task budget and progress.
Document design changes and communications.
Conduct on-site inspections and technical guidance for start-up as needed.
Prepare project status and other reports.
Assist in the preparation of proposals.
Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Maintain excellent client relations.
Maintain a safe working environment.
Publish and present papers at state and national conferences.

Additional Skills & Qualifications MUST HAVES:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
Licensed PE
5 plus years of experience working on Water Resource projects, including large-scale piping, valve, pumping systems, and treatment technologies
Expertise in more than one area of conventional activated sludge wastewater treatment liquid and solid processes including fundamentals of nitrification and denitrification systems, chemical or biological phosphorous removal, secondary and tertiary treatment including high rate disinfection systems, solids handling and biosolids treatment is a plus
Process Modeling expertise (using Biowin, GPS-X, etc.)
Ability/experience to handle documents and drawings for these projects

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.
