MOR Cardiac Surgery 10 Shift Details
Full Time, 12‑hour shifts. Additional details and options will be discussed during interview. Sign‑On Bonus
$20,000 (taxable) to be paid over 24 months. The sign‑on bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past one year. Relocation Bonus
Up to $10,000 (taxable) within 45 days of hire. Bonus amount is based on relocation mileage. Must relocate from greater than 100 miles to be eligible. The relocation bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past one year. Key Responsibilities
Facilitate patient care by assisting the surgeon before, during and after surgical procedures. Plan, set up, perform and clean up the assigned surgical procedure as a circulator and as a scrub tech. Perform sharp, sponge and instrument counts according to policy. Demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to apply the principles of asepsis in creating and maintaining the sterile field. Qualifications
Graduate of an approved specific discipline accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or successful completion of a surgical technologist training program during service as a member of any branch of the United States armed forces. Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience. Certification from one of the following issuers:
NBSTSA CST
(National Board of Surgical Technologist and Surgical Assistants, Certified Surgical Technologist) or
NCCT – TS‑C
(National Center for Competency Testing, Tech In Surgery). Exception: If graduate of a surgical technologist armed forces training program, no certification is required. Equal Opportunity
