Position: CNC Machinist
Location: Macomb, MI
Job Type: Full‑time
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC mills/lathes, from 2‑axis to 9‑axis machines to manufacture firearm components with precision and accuracy.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure parts meet quality standards.
Program CNC equipment using CAM software and/or at the controller to produce complex geometries and contours.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances and efficiency.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize manufacturing processes and improve product quality.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining preferred.
Minimum 3 years proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment, preferably in firearms or related industries.
Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, including experience with CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, Esprit, Bobcam, Solidworks).
Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials used in firearms manufacturing.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
Understanding of quality control and inspection of parts to ensure high quality parts.
Attention to detail and precision craftsmanship with a focus on producing high‑quality parts.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to CNC machining operations.
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet production deadlines.
Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
