Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Service Technician to join our Geismar team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment, with occasional field troubleshooting as needed. This role requires strong mechanical and technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy machinery and equipment
Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime
Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
Coordinate with supervisors and operations teams regarding equipment condition and repair priorities
Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and industry standards while performing work
Maintain tools, shop areas, and service equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED is required
An associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred but not required
Proven experience as a service technician, mechanic, or similar role working with heavy machinery or industrial equipment
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and shop tools
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and quality workmanship
