Revenue Cycle Clerk - Temporary
Location: Maryland Oncology Hematology
Hourly Rate:
$23.50 - $26.46 (depending on skills/experience)
Scope:
Supports the Revenue Cycle staff by assisting with assigned duties.
Responsibilities
Assists the Authorizations Team with follow‑up, processing correspondences/faxes/emails/voicemails, checking/submitting requests on portals/website/phone/updating referrals.
Supports the charge unit by mailing secondary claims/printing required EOBs.
Supports the payment unit by scanning EOBs to the Groupshare, copying documents as needed.
Supports the Admin building by sending/receiving and distributing inter‑office mail and Bomar courier, managing postage and interoffice, USPS placement for pickup and Epic staff taking back for processing.
Supports the Revenue Cycle Department by sending/receiving/distributing inter‑office mail, sorting and distributing correspondence to the AR follow‑up unit.
Answers/routing incoming calls for the RCM team.
Prints medical records for primary claim submissions.
Processes returned mail statements.
Assists in large projects and other support tasks as needed.
Documents insurance refund/audit requests, scanning into the Group share, adding to the Guarantor WQ 17385 REFUND WQ if needed.
Opens daily mail and separates insurance & patient payment from correspondence, batching/sending all EOBs and checks to the lockbox daily.
Runs batching and credit card payments, emailing to paymentrec@epic-care.com.
Answers front door calls and walks up to open the door.
Stocks mail room each day.
Logs, stamps, and flags accounts for returned mail with Insurance Verification and Patient Advocate teams.
Various other tasks as needed.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
1 year medical office experience preferred.
Physical Demands Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision correctable to 20/20. Requires occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
Work Environment Work is performed in an office environment, involving frequent contact with staff and exposure to conditions common to a clinic environment.
