We are seeking a highly skilled
Earthwork CAD Technician
with strong experience in
earthwork takeoffs and digital modeling
using
Trimble Business Center (TBC) . This role supports our Pre-Construction team by producing accurate quantities, constructible models, and data. Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed
earthwork takeoffs
and quantity calculations for heavy civil projects. Develop and maintain
3D models
in
Trimble Business Center , ensuring accuracy and constructability. Interpret civil plans, surveys, specifications, and geotechnical reports to support estimating activities. Prepare cost estimates and budgets for materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractor scopes. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to validate assumptions and ensure alignment on project approach. Assist in data management, file organization, and model handoff to operations. Maintain current knowledge of TBC tools, construction technology, and industry best practices. Qualifications
2+ years
of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, earthwork takeoffs, or related pre-construction roles. Proficiency in Trimble Business Center
(Corridor modeling, surface creation, takeoff tools, etc.). Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, survey data, and digital terrain models (DTMs). Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to create constructible 3D models that reflect realistic means and methods. Proficiency with estimation software (HCSS or similar) preferred. Field experience in heavy civil construction is a plus. Drone mapping or GPS machine control experience a bonus. What We Offer
