Salary Range : $20.00 - $26.00 Hourly
SUMMARY The Enrichment Support Specialist supports adults with autism or developmental disabilities in a day program setting. This role includes helping with daily living tasks, encouraging social interaction, and guiding activities that promote independence and personal growth.
JOB DUTIES
Supervise and/or assist clients with dressing, grooming, and hygiene
Assist with daily living activities
Assist clients during including food preparation and cleanup
Socialize with clients and help them access peer interactions and engagement
Use verbal praise and behavior reinforcement
Monitor the safety of clients on campus and during field trips
Provide individualized assistance during all program activities
Assist with daily activities, projects, and workshops, and encourage participant communication and independence
Complete related paperwork and documentation, including daily data
Assist with assessments periodically
Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS In the course of performing this job, the incumbent typically spends time standing, walking on sloped/hilly areas of campus, carrying, driving, lifting (up to 50 pounds), listening, speaking, reaching, writing, and participating in restraint procedures.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Prior experience in supporting individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred
Work onsite and meet the needs of the clients that they serve.
Ability to pass and utilize crisis intervention training within three months of employment
Ability to pass and utilize First Aid and CPR Certification within three months of employment
Reliable, caring, and comfortable, helping others build life skills
Able to work as part of a team and communicate clearly in a positive manner
Willing to learn and support the program’s structure and goals
>Adapts to change in the work environment; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. Must fulfill all requirements of employment, including clearance of all required background records (e.g. Department of Justice, Child Abuse, California Community Care Licensing, County Sanction List, etc.), professional, physical examination, and drug testing
