The IV Resource Specialist assesses and evaluates patients’ health status related to vascular access and IV therapy needs, developing care plans accordingly. This role involves collaboration with clinical staff, patient education, and competency in advanced vascular access techniques, including ultrasound‑guided PICC and midline catheter placement.

What You’ll Do:

Identify patients needing advanced vascular access and provide recommendations to the healthcare team.

Evaluate ongoing vascular access needs and maintain knowledge of Infusion Nurses Society Standards of Practice.

Demonstrate competence in advanced vascular access techniques and device care.

Operate ultrasound and vein visualization technology for midline and PICC placement.

Document assessments and interventions in patient records.

Provide educational presentations for clinical staff and community partners.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are / Requirements:

Education:

ADN required; BSN required by 2029 or within 10 years for RNs hired after 2019.

Licensure/Certification:

Current NH RN license; Vascular Access Certification within 1 year of hire (preferred: Intravenous Nurses Certification).

Experience:

Minimum 3 years related experience.

Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Abilities:

Achieve competencies within set timelines:

30 days: Basic Life Support

90 days: Peripheral & Midline Catheter Insertion, Ultrasound‑Guided PICC Insertion, PICC Tip Confirmation, Implanted Port Access and Care, Central Line Care
