The Subcontract Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring subcontractors comply with company, client, and regulatory requirements, focusing on certified payroll documentation. This role supports construction operations by maintaining accurate subcontractor compliance records, facilitating payment applications, and verifying wage compliance under federal, state, and project‑specific labor requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Validate certified payroll for accuracy and adherence to wage laws (Davis‑Bacon, state, CBA).

Reconcile certified payroll with subcontractor timecards.

Track and ensure timely submission of compliance statements.

Prepare documentation for audits.

Monitor expiration dates and follow up to ensure ongoing compliance.

Act as liaison among subcontractors, project teams, and compliance staff.

Provide training on payroll requirements.

Recommend workflow improvements and stay updated on labor compliance best practices.

Perform related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.

2+ years of experience in construction accounting or payroll.

Preferred

Familiarity with compliance platforms, e.g., the State of Alaska’s Department of Transportation AASHTOWare program.

Knowledge of certified payroll processes and prevailing wage requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Trimble Viewpoint/Vista or similar ERP systems is a plus.
