Mon to Fri; 7:00am – 4:00pm Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum 5+ years of experience in operations or production management within a steel fabrication. (Complex bridges and hydraulic structures is a plus) Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, including cutting, welding, fitting, machining, painting, and shipping Proven experience in production scheduling and workflow optimization Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, project schedules, and production metrics Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Project, ERP/MRP systems (Tekla EPM), and Microsoft Office (Excel required) Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands‑on management style Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a job‑shop environment Familiarity with AISC standards and quality management systems Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience Description
Operations Manager to lead and coordinate daily operations within our steel fabrication facility. This role is responsible for aligning project execution, production, quality, and scheduling to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of steel fabrication processes, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Collect and coordinate project information from Project Management, Production, Quality, and other departments to develop and maintain an integrated, shop‑wide production schedule Create and manage a global operations schedule that maximizes efficiency, minimizes idle time, and provides clear project visibility Monitor project progress and adjust schedules as needed due to delays, changes, or projects placed on hold Identify operational bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement; collaborate with leadership and shop teams to implement solutions Proactively identify critical path risks and capacity constraints and develop mitigation plans Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and company policies Support production planning, labor allocation, and resource utilization Communicate effectively with internal teams and leadership to provide updates on production status and operational performance JOB-10045631 GFCLW Seniority level
