POSITION:
Junior Event Services Manager
DEPARTMENT:
Event Services
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates expectations of guests to all operating departments in a timely & efficient manner by preparing proper documentation (Banquet Event Orders & Group Resume) and ensuring compliance with The Greenbrier’s policies and procedures.
Execute all events with the highest regard to guest service while maintaining a professional, friendly and courteous atmosphere that provides guests with an exceptional experience and ensures efficient operations.
Manage preparation of all event support materials/collateral.
Completes all follow-up and acknowledgements.
Participate in pre-convention meetings, training and other related meetings as required.
Works with hotel operational departments to ensure a flawless event for guests.
Monitors and evaluates all program components; making changes as needed.
Proactively resolve any guest issue that arises, including the coordination of departmental assistance when necessary.
Performs all other job-related duties as requested.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain general property knowledge.
Maintain fiscal responsibilities as related to departmental budgets.
Ensuring a positive work environment.
NORMAL WORKING HOURS Vary through 7-day work week depending on business.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and/or experience preferred.
Hospitality experience at 4 or 5 Diamond-rated resorts or hotels.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Demonstrate ability to work independently and to self-motivate.
Team player with the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to organize multiple functions into a seamless process and multi‑task.
Detail oriented.
Follow‑up and follow‑through in a timely manner.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite; Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Proficient in Delphi and/or Micros Opera Sales & Catering systems.
Proficient in Social Tables.
Proficient in Open Table.
PAST WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Convention Services Experience at 4 or 5 Diamond‑rated resorts or hotels.
Experience with F&B, décor and audio‑visual set‑up and needs.
