Position Summary A school in Brooklyn is seeking a dedicated
Shadow/Paraprofessional
to support classroom teachers and assist students with academic, behavioral, and social development. This role plays an essential part in maintaining a positive learning environment and providing individualized support to students in both general education and specialized settings.
Key Responsibilities
Support lead teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities
Assist students individually or in small groups with academic tasks
Help implement lesson plans and instructional materials
Provide behavioral and emotional support to students as needed
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal
Assist with classroom organization and preparation of materials
Monitor student progress and communicate observations to teachers
Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous experience working with children in an educational setting preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, reliability, and a student-centered approach
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff
Comfort supporting students with diverse learning needs
