Responsibilities Counselors will be involved in all supervisory aspects of the program, including monitoring student attendance in classes, accompanying students on off-campus trips, overseeing dormitory activities, directing special events, and providing tutoring and informal academic support. Counselors are expected to interact with students on a personal basis and provide appropriate support while maintaining strong boundaries. All counselors will work together to submit a thoughtful written evaluation of the personal characteristics of each student at the end of the program.
Counselors are expected to strictly adhere to and enforce program rules and policies and to support all other program staff in this regard. Counselors are expected to serve as positive role models at all times by exhibiting good behavior and upholding the program’s integrity. Disregard for program rules and policies will be considered grounds for dismissal.
Both students and counselors are housed at SouthGate Campus Centre and all meals are included June 7, 2026-July 18, 2026.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
Must be relatively comfortable driving a large vehicle or be willing to learn
Must be eligible to work in the US by April 2, 2026
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Young Scholars Program participant, a counselor for Young Scholars Program or other summer camps, or a dormitory RA.

Anticipated Salary Range $13.50 - 16.50 hourly at 28 hours/week

Room and board is included (a value of app. $1,407), along with compensation between $2000 and $2500 based on experience level and assigned responsibilities.
