The Department of Engineering Education (EED) at The Ohio State University invites applications for a part‑time Lecturer appointment to teach first‑year engineering courses. The appointment covers the following courses for the 2025‑26 academic year (starting January 2026): Standard Fundamentals of Engineering (ENGR 1181 & 1182)
– two‑course sequence with classroom and lab components. Honors Fundamentals of Engineering (ENGR 1281 & 1282)
– two‑course sequence with classroom and lab components. MATLAB (ENGR 1221)
– stand‑alone course introducing programming and problem‐solving techniques in MATLAB. All courses are taught in person on the University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio. Performance Objectives
Present course material and guide students through assignments. Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. Demonstrate commitment to student success. Collaborate with fellow instructors. Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent. Passion for teaching undergraduate engineering students. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate with graduate teaching associates and undergraduate teaching assistants. Desired Qualifications
Ph.D. in engineering or equivalent. Experience teaching in a learning setting, including K‑12 classroom experience or higher education teaching as an instructor of record or graduate teaching assistant. Additional Information
