Clayco, a full‑service real‑estate development and construction firm, is hiring a Senior Site Safety Supervisor. This role supports project staff and the Clayco safety team in executing corporate safety and health standards in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing the project safety program.

Establish and conduct job‑site orientation for new project employees and record participation.

Attend initial meetings with project staff and subcontractor representatives to define roles within the safety program.

Conduct and document pre‑planning safety meetings with subcontractors.

Field tasks solo on projects up to $80M.

Client interfacing.

Assist Site Safety Manager.

Lead regular weekly safety meetings with subcontractors and project staff.

Facilitate training for site personnel ensuring OSHA/Clayco standards compliance.

Maintain logs of each subcontractor toolbox safety meeting.

Review subcontractor safety programs and ensure compliance.

Ensure subcontractor safety representatives are properly trained and authorized.

Conduct daily and weekly job‑site inspections and complete safety checklists.

Record, notify, and prepare written reports of violations or unsafe practices.

Stop any violation or unsafe practice immediately.

Assist Project Superintendent in fire‑prevention, evacuation, and control procedures.

Investigate incidents and generate proper reports.

Maintain all required safety records.

Lead monthly safety overview meetings and brief project staff on safety issues.

Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent.

4–7 years of safety experience in building construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years of field experience.

OSHA 30‑hour construction accreditation.

OSHA 500 Outreach Trainer certification is a plus.

Physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, hoists, and negotiate construction sites.

Vision: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

Occasional lifting of up to 50 lb.

Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.

Tolerance for moderate to loud noise environments.

Computer skills with Microsoft Office.

Physical Requirements

Navigate active construction sites safely, including climbing stairs, ladders, and using hoists.

Walk long distances, stand extended periods, work at heights.

Access and inspect elevated areas such as scaffolding and rooftops.

Maintain visual acuity required for close, peripheral, and depth vision.

Occasionally lift or move items up to 50 lb.

Work in varying noise levels and may require PPE.

Work in extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and unpredictable weather.
