About the Role
The Pleater Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by expertly operating pleating machines to produce high-quality pleated materials used in various industries such as textiles, automotive, and filtration. The operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining pleating equipment to optimize performance and minimize downtime. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience operating pleating or similar textile machinery.
Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform machine adjustments.
Ability to read and interpret production orders, technical drawings, and quality standards.
Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industrial pleating machines in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures for textile machinery.
Basic computer skills for logging production data and communicating with team members.
Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
Set up and calibrate pleating machines according to production specifications and material requirements.
Monitor machine operation continuously to ensure consistent pleat quality and adherence to safety standards.
Inspect finished products for defects, dimensions, and quality, making adjustments as necessary to maintain standards.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of pleating equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
Collaborate with production supervisors and quality control teams to report issues and implement process improvements.
Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, output quantities, and any incidents or adjustments.
Follow all workplace safety protocols and contribute to a clean and organized work environment.
