Description
M-F eight-hour shift. To verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments and to prepare items for shipment by utilizing the barcode scanner. Maintains the highest level of accuracy and ensures all shipments are completed in a timely manner. Maintains Darnel safety & quality standards in all aspects of job performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates forklift to prepare, maintain and retrieve materials according to picking batches.
Compares identifying information with shipping documents, including counts, weights, and measurements of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Verifies information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Monitors and verifies accuracy of warehouse inventory by item, lot, and location through use of barcode scanner.
Reports any inventory discrepancies to Lead or Supervisor.
Utilizes the barcode scanner to “pick” sales orders as assigned on a daily basis.
Picks and ships inventory using FIFO system (first in first out).
Prepares and loads all shipments according to picking batches while ensuring inventory, loaded trucks and paperwork are accurate.
Loads full truckload shipments ensuring that all available space is utilized.
Prepares LTL (less than truckload) and parcel shipments in a neat and compact manner resulting in minimal shipping costs.
Prior to shipment release, verifies that the “picked” (picking batch) quantities per sales order match the invoiced (packing slip) quantities.
Accurately completes and verifies paperwork for outgoing shipments.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains good housekeeping on equipment, floors, trash cans and waste according to AIB (ANSI International Standards of Baking) requirements.
Performs any other assigned duties or tasks requested by management.
PHYSICALS DEMANDS
Vision correctable to 20/20.
Lifting up to 55 lbs. from floor to waist high.
Frequent bending and stooping.
Frequent climbing up and down ladders.
Use a utility knife following prescribed safety regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS Lighting is good and temperatures will be hot in summer and cold in the winter. Earplugs, eye protection, steel toed shoes and hair nets are required in the production area. Gloves, face-shield and other various types of protective equipment must be worn when working around certain equipment.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Can read, write and has a good command of the English language, both written and spoken and be able to perform simple math.
Must be able to read and use measurement instruments.
Forklift certification required.
