Job Description A Fire Alarm & Security Technician is responsible for programming, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems and security systems. They use specialized software and equipment to ensure these systems function correctly and meet client requirements.
Responsibilities
Designing and programming fire alarm systems to meet client needs and regulatory standards.
Testing and troubleshooting fire alarm and security systems.
Installing and servicing security systems, CCTV, and access control.
Collaborating with project managers, technicians and stakeholders to meet timelines and budgets.
Providing technical support and training to clients and colleagues.
Maintaining accurate work records and preparing reports.
Keeping up-to-date with changes in codes, regulations and industry best practices.
Ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal codes and safety protocols.
Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements
Must possess a Massachusetts Fire Alarm System Installer and Technician license, Class D or higher.
Experience in fire alarm system programming, testing, and troubleshooting.
Experience with security systems, CCTV, and access control.
Familiarity with specialized software and equipment used to program fire alarm systems, and knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Valid driver’s license and physical ability to perform job duties.
Physical Requirements
Work in unusual and challenging positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high‑lift equipment up to 40 ft, ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
Work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
