Position Summary Supports the delivery of quality legal services to clients by providing effective administrative assistance to attorneys while also working collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. This position supports an attorney(s) as a primary assignment and provides back-up assistance to others, as needed.

General legal support for attorney(s) including but not limited to

Ongoing review of email and attorney email (depends on attorney)

Manage delivered mail

Copy/Scan/Electronically File/Mail/Courier

Documentation creation and support within document/case management system

Assist attorney in registering for and tracking CLE compliance requirements

Enter attorney time, expenses, check request, billing

Schedule networking events and other social events within budget

Provide support to other attorneys and assistant as needed and as time permits

Principal Activities

Client Liaison – phone and email communication between attorney and client

Follow up with co-defendants and adversaries for documents, meetings, discovery requests, and other information that has been requested

Proactively anticipate and prepare for the upcoming cases and deadlines of the assigned attorneys and manage calendar/scheduling

Create diary/log of activities happening in the case

Document creation including: Transcribing documents (Depends on attorney), preparing letters, exhibits, motions, interrogatories, expert packages, etc.

E-filing with courts

Assist Attorney in preparing presentations (Depends on attorney)

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma, college a plus

5+ Years of legal administrative experience

Special License/Certification Paralegal Certificate helpful but not required

Language Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Technical Skills

Knowledge of software management system for handling legal files

Tech savvy knowledge of internet, operating systems, mobile devices, etc.

Proficient use of PC with thorough knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint (Advance-level of use on Outlook and Word)

Knowledge of time and billing systems

Understanding of office equipment such as copiers and scanners

Salary Description $50,000 - $75,000 per year
