Biomedical Technician II - Clinical Engineering - Full Time Apply for the Biomedical Technician II – Clinical Engineering – Full Time role at Elliot Health System.

About the Job With minimal supervision, perform preventive maintenance, functional and electrical safety tests, calibration and repairs to ensure safe and proper use of hospital biomedical electronic/electromechanical equipment and other devices as directed.

What You’ll Do

Work as required at all Elliot Health Systems facilities.

Perform all testing procedures according to specified standards, policies and procedures.

Implement the preventive maintenance program using general and specific types of test equipment and procedures; coordinate repair with outside firms as directed.

Assist in reviewing/revising the IPM program documentation system, department policies/procedures and service contract reviews.

Maintain, calibrate and repair biomedical equipment; select and requisition needed parts; remove and/or disconnect hazardous equipment as necessary.

Assist in installing new equipment.

Document all work performed per department policies and procedures; generate reports from the PC database using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Assist in training medical staff on equipment hazards and proper operation; assist in investigating special application problems as directed.

Assist in training co‑workers on equipment operation, repair, documentation and other department areas.

Maintain work areas in a clean, safe and organized manner.

Who You Are

Strong time‑management skills.

Knowledge of medical and electronic terminology.

Ability to express ideas verbally.

Capacity to plan and perform varied duties requiring general knowledge of applicable policies and procedures.

Judgment for independent work, devising methods, modifying standard procedures, and making decisions based on precedent and policy.

Up‑to‑date knowledge of applicable codes/standards and medical equipment functions.

Ability to work in emergency, intensive care and surgical environments where ill patients are present.

Tolerance for frequent interruptions and response to unexpected situations.

Capability to work on a wide variety of medical equipment.

Job Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or Biomedical Technology preferred; equivalent training/experience considered.

Experience: Four plus years of biomedical electronic technician experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure: Valid driver’s license required.

Software/Hardware: Proficiency with common test equipment in Health Care Technology Management and CMMS; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
