Job Overview MAC General Contractors is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Carpenter to join our field operations team in Columbus, IN. Responsibilities

Perform and lead framing, finish carpentry, and other trade tasks on residential and light commercial projects.

Operate and maintain construction equipment, including skid steers and excavators.

Load, secure, and tow equipment trailers to job sites.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Assist in mentoring junior crew members and maintaining job‑site efficiency.

Read and interpret blueprints and project plans.

Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet deadlines and uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

5–7+ years of hands‑on construction experience (residential or light commercial preferred).

Strong carpentry skills and attention to finish detail.

Experience operating skid steers, excavators, and pulling trailers.

Mechanical knowledge is a plus.

OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Must be dependable, self‑motivated, and team‑oriented.

A background check and drug screening will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws.

Competitive hourly wage starting at $25+, based on experience.

Year‑end performance bonus potential.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, Full‑Time.

Occasional weekend work may be required based on project timelines.
