Machine Operator – Pactiv Evergreen Inc.
Responsible for the safe operation of bag machines to produce high‑quality bags, including shopping, merchandise, grocery and sack machines.
Responsibilities
Perform all tasks safely, adhering to PPE, clothing, EHS, and cut‑resistant glove requirements.
Check bags for quality defects, complete paperwork as per the Quality Policy.
Strip rolls down, remove liner and bands, minimize damaged paper layers.
Change rolls, splice by hand, maneuver rolls, adhere roll to web, adjust paper rolls.
Monitor bag machinery, start, stop, jog, and adjust as needed in a timely manner.
Thread paper through the machine smoothly, thread machine as needed.
Clean and repair machine as required using proper tools and equipment.
Maintain ink levels, clean ink pans, and wash rollers.
Package bags as specified, change orders.
Submit accurate production reports daily and timely.
Meet/achieve safety, quality, production waste, and housekeeping goals set by management.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or applicable work experience.
Experience working in a warehouse environment.
Reading, writing and basic math skills are required.
Problem‑solving skills to ensure minor machine adjustments are correct.
Effective communication skills with other employees and management.
Good eyesight (no color‑blindness) to spot flaws in color comparison and print set‑up as bags or film come off the production line.
Compensation
Starting Pay Rate of $20.29/hour.
