Loan Operations Specialist
to join our team! The Bank was established to promote agriculture, commerce, and industry in the State. Its loan programs work in conjunction with private financial institutions to finance economic development throughout the State. It is the legal depository for all state funds unless provided otherwise by law. The Bank also serves as a central clearing agency and provides many other services to North Dakota banks and other financial institutions. Loan Operations Specialist
will have the knowledge and skills to support transaction processing and daily balancing for BND's extensive loan portfolio, which includes more than 115 loan programs spanning direct, participation, administered, buydown, and student loans. Responsibilities
Balance the Bank's direct, participation, and administered loan portfolios across three institutions; reconcile outsourced servicing portfolios; research and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity. Process loan payments, disbursements, payoffs, student loan consolidations, and other loan maintenance tasks, ensuring all transactions are accurately posted. Verify loan data before disbursement, activate loans, manage buydown calculations, and work closely with partner institutions to resolve discrepancies and support accurate reporting. Process residential real estate loan modifications, non-accruals, and charge-offs. Assist in training new staff and identify and implement training and development opportunities. Support a wide range of projects such as system upgrades, tax reporting reconciliation, data mapping, testing, and software implementation activities. Assist with records retention, forms management, procedure development, business analytics reporting, and identifying process efficiencies. Qualifications
Associate degree in finance, accounting, business, or a closely related field and two years of experience in banking involving bookkeeping, bank cashiering, or office support duties for the Loan Operations Specialist III position. Associate degree in finance, accounting, business, or a closely related field of study and 12 months of work experience in banking involving bookkeeping, bank cashiering, or office support duties for the Loan Operations Specialist II position (considered if unable to find qualified candidates). Ability to shift priorities in a dynamic environment while sustaining quality and accuracy. Strong track record of completing detailed tasks accurately and consistently. Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements. Excellent interpersonal skills, trust, diplomacy, and professionalism. Application Procedures
