Senior Lending Compliance and Quality Control Specialist
Your Contribution
The position will be responsible for monitoring and researching lending regulatory changes and coordinating our compliance regarding loan operations with applicable rules, regulations, and statutory requirements, ensuring the Credit Union is in compliance with these laws and regulations regarding loan originations and servicing. This role independently reviews loan files, identifies compliance and quality risks, and drives corrective action to strengthen loan operations, reduce risk exposure, and improve member outcome regarding loan origination and servicing.
As a vital member of the LCCU team, your responsibilities include:
Monitor, research, and analyze new regulatory changes, trends, and changes in regulatory compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
Ensure adherence to the credit union lending policies and procedures, lien perfections, and maintain the highest standard of quality for our loan documentation.
Identify necessary changes to systems and processes and assist in reviewing and updating our policies and procedures.
Conduct comprehensive compliance reviews of consumer and real estate loan files to ensure adherence to applicable regulations, including but not limited to: TILA/Reg Z, RESPA, ECOA/Reg B, HMDA/Reg C, FCRA, FDCPA, SCRA, MLA, Flood and Fair Lending Requirements.
Serve as subject matter resource for lending staff, leadership, and operations partners.
Support internal audits, NCUA exams, and external reviews by preparing documentation, responding to findings, and tracking remediation efforts.
Maintain QC tracking, reporting, and metrics to assess risk exposure and process effectiveness.
Work independently with minimal supervision to complete assigned responsibilities.
Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail while maintaining accurate and thorough work.
Apply and maintain a strong working knowledge of lending policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Exercise sound independent judgment when evaluating information and making decisions.
Navigate ambiguity and changing priorities with professionalism and adaptability.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum of 3‑5 years of lending compliance and quality control or equivalent experience. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
Strong familiarity and experience with lending compliance laws, regulations, and guidance and ability to perform independent research.
Compliance or lending certifications (CRC, CUNA compliance training, etc.) are a plus.
Must be proficient in using available resources to locate and acquire information regarding lending regulations, as well as credit union policies and guidelines.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
Solid understanding of consumer and real estate lending.
Experience working with Excel, Word, Access, databases, and/or other third‑party lending quality control software is preferred.
Must be able to speak and write English fluently. Spanish is a plus.
Prior Credit Union experience is a plus.
