Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (Maternal Child Health) - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus) Location: Vacaville, CA Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12 Days Pay: $3,208.68/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Summary The Labor & Delivery RN provides specialized care to expectant mothers throughout the childbirth process, including antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum periods. This role involves monitoring maternal and fetal well-being, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessments of maternal and fetal status during labor and delivery.

Monitor vital signs, fetal heart tracings, and uterine activity using electronic fetal monitoring.

Administer medications, IV fluids, and epidural support as prescribed.

Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during vaginal and cesarean deliveries.

Provide emotional support and education to patients and families regarding labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies (e.g., postpartum hemorrhage, fetal distress).

Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).

Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).

Licensure:

Current RN license in [State].

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – Required

Fetal Monitoring Certification – Preferred

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical rotations may be considered.

Skills & Competencies

Expertise in obstetric and neonatal care.

Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.

Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations.

Excellent communication and patient education abilities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient positioning for extended periods.

Manual dexterity for operating fetal monitors and assisting with procedures.
