Overview We are searching for an experienced Traffic/Transportation Engineer to support our Gulf Region group located in Birmingham, Huntsville, and Tuscaloosa, AL. Minimum 5 years of traffic engineering and/or transportation planning experience is required.
Responsibilities
Perform routine aspects of assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles
Projects may include traffic operations analysis, traffic signal design, traffic signal timing development, corridor planning studies, transportation safety studies, roadway master planning, long‑range transportation planning, and transportation modeling (micro and macro)
Assist the Project Manager in the development and design of projects
Assist Service Line Manager in development of Engineering Interns
Prepare engineering studies, documents, and reports
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
5–10+ years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning
Alabama PE License required
PTOE, PTP, and/or RSP certifications are a plus
Proficiency with traffic engineering and transportation planning practices and procedures
Proficiency with Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS, and MicroStation
Familiarity with CUBE Voyager and TransCAD is a plus
Mastery of MS Office products
Dependable with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet deadlines and provide high quality work
Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and, if applicable, a post‑offer fit‑for‑duty evaluation
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
