Facility Leader II – Contingent – Historic Sites and Facilities, Recreation & Parks

Duties
Staff historic facility or park during events, programs and rentals.
Coordinate rental events with other facility and park staff during evenings/weekends, as needed.
Event rentals typically occur on Fridays, Saturdays and/or Sundays.
Ability to work 1–2 evenings/weekend nights during busy season April–November.
Ensure the facility and grounds are clean, safe and set up for the event.
Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
Greet and guide renters, guests and vendors to the appropriate locations upon arrival.
Communicate setup details, access to electricity and kitchen, transportation of equipment, parking, and other policies to vendors upon arrival.
Monitor activities throughout the entirety of an event, both inside and on the grounds.
Ensure all rules & regulations for the facility and park are followed and enforced.
Use good judgment when troubleshooting maintenance and safety issues during the event.
Make yourself accessible throughout the rental event so staff can reach you for questions or emergencies.
Assist rental guests with accessibility issues to reach parking, bathrooms and event areas.
Monitor cleanliness of facility and grounds throughout the event.
Assist with set up and take down of equipment, tables, and chairs.
Check supplies and re‑stock where necessary.
Work with other staff and vendors and communicate as a team with renters.
Monitor participants for safety and proper use of equipment.
Document safety hazards, violations and any damage to the site for further action by management; conduct regular safety and maintenance checks.
Communicate clearly and courteously with the public and coworkers.
Be trained in the use of AED, CPR & First Aid (can be accomplished after hiring).
Identify and apply good sustainability practices in all aspects of Department operations.
Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and grounds.
Experience & Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a High School Diploma or GED.
At least two years of experience working with the public in a variety of settings.
Experience working with events or catered functions and with the public.
Proficient in communication, attention to detail, problem solving, and prioritization.
Good time management skills; flexible, reliable, responsible and enjoys working with the general public.
Basic understanding of park operations.
Ability to work independently on all shifts (late night and early morning).
Operate a motor vehicle safely; able to use a two‑way radio and phone (voicemail).
Can communicate with public safety officials in emergency and non‑emergency situations; complete detailed reports; manage numerous activities within a park site(s).
Understand and follow oral and written instructions; maintain effective relationships with the public.
Basic knowledge of customer service, event management, and facility oversight.
Rate of Pay Contingent – Paraprofessional. Minimum Wage $18.00 per hour.
