Facilities Watch Officer - TS/SCI with ability to obtain Full-Scope Polygraph
Akima is seeking a Facilities Watch Officer (FWO) to operate within our 24/7 Mission‑Critical Facility Control Center (FCC).
The FWO will monitor and control critical infrastructure—including HVAC/R systems, fire systems, electrical power, and building automation—ensuring uninterrupted Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) and Information Assurance (IA) support.
Responsibilities
Remain physically present in the FCC at all times.
Monitor and control major critical facilities infrastructure via SCADA and EMCS subsystems.
Prevent malfunctions, make adjustments, optimize equipment utilization, and mitigate problems.
Maintain accurate watch logs and elevate events with potential mission impact.
Respond to plant and substation configurations and alarm conditions immediately.
Provide formal reports on mission‑impacting events and ensure follow‑up actions are resolved.
Notify agency workforce of shutdowns or degraded building conditions via Agency All messages, PA announcements, and communications to the NSAW Installations and Logistics Operations Center (ILOC) Senior Installations and Logistics Officer (SILO).
Manage complex scheduled outages and coordinate impacts with mission elements.
Brief mission partners and management on facilities issues, world events, and weather systems affecting mission.
Support government staff as required.
Qualifications
10 years of combined experience operating mechanical and electrical systems.
2 years of experience monitoring and controlling critical facility infrastructures such as HVAC/R, fire systems, and electrical power.
Ability to understand and communicate electrical, mechanical, and HVAC/R drawings and diagrams.
Experience with Building Automation Systems.
Familiarity with Maximo CMMS and MS Word.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Exemplary attention to detail.
Awareness of fraud, waste, and abuse reporting.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
High School diploma or equivalent.
