Metglas, Inc., located in Conway, SC, is a world leading producer of Amorphous Metal Ribbon. Since our company began in the 1970’s, Metglas, Inc. (then Allied Signal located in Morristown, NJ) pioneered the development and production of amorphous metal, a unique alloy that exhibits a structure in which the metal atoms occur in a random pattern. The key to Metglas Inc.’s proprietary manufacturing process is the rapid solidification of molten alloy at a rate of approximately one million degrees Celsius per second.

Key Responsibilities

Take a leadership role to maintain a World Class Safety program and Safety Performance.

Set goals, develop and implement programs to achieve plant and business objectives.

Increase on-stream time and reduce costs through improved equipment reliability.

Track/trend reliability metrics (including TBC and costs).

Apply preventive, predictive, and proactive tools/programs effectively.

Take an active role in maintenance activities: plan, conduct, analyze and summarize plant performance improvement trials.

Coordinate with engineers, maintenance and operators in the implementation of new process operating conditions and procedures.

Respond as required to specific equipment and performance problems.

Maintain integrity of all drawings, specifications, programs, compliance/inspection records, and other documentation.

Adhere to all ISO system requirements.

Technical competence in reliability techniques and equipment.

Experience & Education

BS or MS in mechanical engineering with experience in highly technical operations/facility management.

5–7 years’ experience in Industrial/Manufacturing environment.

Maintenance Engineering skills are required.

Excellent computer skills needed. Microsoft Office, CMMS and Oracle preferred.

Ladder logic programming experience related to process automation and control.

Working experience with Siemens control system desirable.

Available to work extended hours, days, nights, overnights, weekends, holidays, on‑call if/as/when needed.
