The Role As Business Operations Manager you will build the functions that unlock growth and help the company scale. Working directly with Whatnot’s leadership team, you will lead large, critical initiatives and solve complex, unstructured problems. This role is an excellent introduction to Whatnot and allows individuals to learn about the business while contributing to high‑impact, critical initiatives.
Act as a strategic partner to leadership, driving high‑impact business initiatives and informing decision‑making.
Lead and execute key cross‑functional initiatives to scale functions and build solutions.
Proactively identify inhibitors to growth.
Define and measure critical metrics.
We offer flexible work arrangements—remote or at one of our global office hubs. Team members in this role must live within commuting distance of the Los Angeles, San Francisco or New York City hubs.
You About
We look for candidates with low ego, a growth mindset and a focus on action and high impact. The ideal candidate has 5–6 years of experience in consulting, investment banking/private equity or a fast‑growing startup, plus:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or a related field.
Motivation to take on new opportunities and challenges.
Ability to move quickly with little structure or guidance.
Curiosity to learn about different parts of the business and how to pull levers to grow faster.
Ability to operate independently and work deeply on projects while building cross‑collaborative relationships.
Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functionally, communicate with diverse audiences, and bring stakeholders on board.
Track record of driving change and impact in an unstructured environment.
Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems using data and process improvement.
Nice to Have
Experience working on a marketplace or two‑sided platform.
Passion for buying and selling in online marketplaces.
MBA.
SQL and dashboard experience.
