Incoming Inspector
– KIMBALL PHYSICS, Nashua, NH
Responsible for inspecting materials, components, or parts upon receipt from suppliers to ensure they meet all outlined quality standards and specifications.
Responsibilities
Visually inspect and dimensionally measure incoming parts against specification drawings, using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Identify and segregate non-conforming parts.
Bring all nonconforming parts to the Material Review Board (MRB), ultimately driving the matter to resolution.
Record nonconforming parts through NCMR’s; collaborate with suppliers via Supply Chain Management/Buyer and internal teams to return parts via RMA, as required.
Maintain NCMR’s, closing them upon resolution.
Communicate quality issues to Quality, Production, and Engineering teams.
Perform secondary count of materials and products received as needed for part received in inspection.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (scrap reduction, process improvement).
Support internal audits and customer audits as needed.
Perform other duties and assist the Quality Manager as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities
Mechanical inspection experience with exposure to GD&T.
Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, technical specifications, product certifications, manufacturing planning, and inspection procedures.
General understanding of industry and quality concepts and standards such as ISO, ASQ, and NIST.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ethics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Minimum Education and Experience
Associate’s degree in business, or technical and/or equivalent work experience.
4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
On occasion, the ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds.
