Equipment Commissioning Manager (EqCM)
Job Overview
Johnson Controls seeks an experienced Equipment Commissioning Manager to support the Equipment North America (EqNA) organization. The EqCM will coordinate startup, warranty, and service activities, serve as the single point of contact for EqNA customers, and collaborate with branch service managers and the HVAC Equipment Operations Manager (HEOM).
Base Pay Range $89,000.00/yr – $121,000.00/yr
What You Will Do
Support EqNA sales by specifying service scope and determining project requirements.
Provide custom quotes for service items outside PCAT policy.
Verify branch service technicians are trained and coordinate training with Truck Based Service Manager.
Attend RTO meetings for complex projects and Plan Service Agreement (PSA) contracts.>
Validate PSA details and coordinate project submittals.
Conduct weekly service turnover meetings to monitor scopes and provide status updates.
Introduce Connected Service capabilities to customers.
Coordinate scheduled work and schedule changes directly with EqNA customers.
Maintain asset records in NxGen and ensure correct site assignment for future SRs/quotes.
Deliver related requirements to FOB Destination and communicate back to SAE and Customer.
Verify warranty shows correctly in Warranty Navigator and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor Long‑Term Storage (LTS) requirements and coordinate with SAE and customer.
Promote Pronto Forms utilization for prestart checklists, unit inspections, and warranty work.
Ensure startup is completed, resolve issues, and provide startup documentation.
Enter startup dates in NxGen and register equipment in Warranty Navigator; provide warranty certification to EqNA customer.
Invoice SRs promptly upon scope completion.
Act as first point of contact for warranty requests, dispatching technicians and filing claims.
Escalate and resolve issues preventing service warranty work; accelerate cash collections.
Facilitate technical support for EqNA customers.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of industry experience, technical engineering, or construction degree graduate.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Writer, and basic Windows operating system.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Good conflict resolution skills.
Ability to represent Johnson Controls positively at varying technical levels.
Demonstrated ability to manage large, diverse projects with professionalism and persistence.
Demonstrated organizational attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
BA degree in Engineering or Construction.
HVAC equipment knowledge.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
