As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our food products. You will be responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and audits throughout the production process to uphold our standards of excellence. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a sanitary and efficient manufacturing environment.

Duties And Responsibilities

Quality Inspections: Perform routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality specifications and regulatory requirements.

Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of inspection and testing activities, including test results, deviations, and corrective actions taken. Complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.

Process Monitoring: Monitor critical control points and production parameters to identify and address deviations from established standards. Collaborate with production personnel to implement corrective actions as needed.

Sanitation Compliance: Verify that equipment, facilities, and personnel adhere to sanitation standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Report any sanitation issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

HACCP Compliance: Assist in the audits and maintenance of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans. Participate in HACCP meetings and help identify potential hazards and control measures.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in quality-related projects and initiatives. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to review best practices and drive continuous quality improvement.

Training: Provide training to production personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. Foster a culture of quality and compliance throughout the organization.

Flexibility to work overtime and non‑standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED; post‑secondary education is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience working in food manufacturing or a similar production environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Knowledge of food safety regulations (FSA, USDA) and quality assurance practices (GMPs).

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as required in the production process.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Daily exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, and poor lighting; noise and vibration.

Seasonal exposure to weather elements, including extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.

Work involves physical risks and hazards such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical and electrical hazards, and communicable diseases.

Position requires the ability to stand, walk, lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds, and perform fine dexterity tasks while kneeling, crawling, or twisting.
